The Meath Film Festival, a vibrant celebration of cinema, creativity, and culture, is now accepting submissions for the 2025 60-Second Short Film Competition - the perfect creative project for aspiring filmmakers over the Easter holidays.

Aimed at supporting and inspiring young filmmakers, this competition is open to all under the age of 18, residing anywhere in Ireland, and a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your filmmaking journey. The deadline for submissions is Thursday, May 1, 2025.

Winners of the 60-Second Short Film Competition will have their work shown at the Meath Film Festival, which is taking place September 13 and 14 in the Solstice Arts Centre.

Founded in 2022 by passionate local filmmakers, the Meath Film Festival shines a spotlight on artistic talent from Ireland and beyond. In addition to film screenings, they also host multiple Q&A's with filmmakers and offer a series of dynamic workshops designed to inspire and educate.

Whether you're a seasoned filmmaker or a curious beginner, you'll find sessions tailored to enhance your skills and spark your creativity. Learn from industry experts, engage in lively discussions, and connect with fellow enthusiasts who share your passion for cinema.
