May is a month which sees the blossoming of delicate flowers such as Lily of the Valley and Hawthorn. Its birthstone is the emerald which is emblematic of love and success.

All of these factors combine to give us reason to celebrate the symbols of hope, fertility, new beginnings and the month of wishes and expectation.    

 With all of these features welcoming the month of May the Drogheda Male Voice Choir will join Dundalk choir, Clermont Chorale, to perform a Maytime Choral Spectacular!  

David Leddy, Musical Director of the Drogheda Male Voice Choir says; “I hope people will join us for an evening filled with beautiful choral performances from the Drogheda Male Voice Choir and the fantastic Clermont Chorale Mixed Choir from Dundalk.

The Clermont Chorale Choir was formed in 2003 in Blackrock, Dundalk and its Musical Director is Mr Ronan Dennedy. The choir has performed extensively in many illustrious venues and released a CD of the highlights of their performances. The choir has competed very successfully on many occasions at the Cork International Festival and has won numerous National Awards in Contemporary, Church and Jazz competitions.

The Clermont Chorale Choir has achieved many notable honours since their formation and this will be their first time to perform in their neighbouring town of Drogheda when they will join with their hosts, the Drogheda Male Voice Choir, to make it a memorable evening of choral music.

The rivalry that is generally associated with the two major towns in Louth, this time it will be a very harmonious one and will feature two of the leading choirs in the county to give spectacular performances.
