The Bavarian Blues Brothers.
After a gap of two years, the legendary Bavarian Blues Brothers return to Ireland and make their Drogheda debut at McHugh’s Barrel Venue, on Easter Sunday, 20th April. The band were very well received on their last Irish tour and since their first trip here in 2019, they have played storming shows to excited audiences in Galway, Cork, Limerick and other Irish cities.
The original Blues Brothers film is a 1980 American musical comedy starring John Belushi as "Joliet" Jake Blues and Dan Ackroyd as his brother Elwood, characters developed from the legendary American TV series, Saturday Night Live. It features musical numbers by singers such as Solomon Burke, Cab Calloway, Taj Mahal, Ray Charles, John Lee Hooker and others.
Those who have seen the film will be familiar with a great night of dark suits, Ray-ban sunglasses and Fedora hats which recall previous Blues Brothers gatherings in legendary Drogheda venues like the Boxing Club, Fusion Niteclub and Walkers Hotel, back in the ‘80s and ‘90s. Well, the wait is over, and the night everyone has been waiting for, the legendary Blues Brothers Night, is back up and running again.
