A call to action for the wider Drogheda Community

Drogheda Homeless Aid has announced an addition to its fundraising events calendar, The Big Sleep Out 2025, which will take place on Friday, May 23, 2025, in Drogheda.

This inspiring community event is an opportunity to make a tangible difference for those affected by homelessness, and Drogheda Homeless Aid is calling on individuals, schools, businesses, and community groups to come together in solidarity.

The Big Sleep Out 2025 will be held at St. Peter’s Church on West Street, Drogheda, with participants joining in a sleep-out experience to raise awareness about homelessness.

“This event is more than just a fundraiser” said Campaigns and Fundraising Coordinator for Drogheda Homeless Aid, Gemma O’Donoghue, “it’s a chance to actively engage with the issues surrounding homelessness and show compassion for those in need.”

“We’re thrilled to offer a chance for local schools and colleges to get involved, and we’re encouraging everyone to participate in whatever way they can. Together, we can make a significant impact.”

The event will be promoted across local media outlets, ensuring wide visibility for those who support the cause. In addition to the main sleep-out event, participants who can’t attend in person are encouraged to host their own sleep-outs at local schools, sports fields, or community centres.

This expanded format allows individuals and groups to join in on their own terms, amplifying the event's reach across the region.
