In late 2024, Ace AC implemented a training programme with a particular focus on developing their youngest age groups, and it proved dividends at the weekend with some great performances in the first track competition of the season, the Pre-Louth Championships at the Lourdes Stadium in Drogheda.
The day couldn't have started any better with two medals in the very first race of the morning, the boys U8 60m, where training partners Moss O'Donnell and Finn Murphy secured a brilliant silver and bronze respectively.
The medals kept coming when U10 Kathryn Cumming successfully navigated two heats and won bronze in the 60m. Niamh Faulkner had a great race and won bronze in the girls u14 sprint.
Daniella Adebola and Chloe Hanley, running out of age, were next to medal in the girls U19 100m sprint, with Gold & Silver.

The middle distance races started in the afternoon, and first up was the boys u8 300m, where Moss O'Donnell won his second medal of the day with a brilliant Gold followed by the impressive Finn Murphy in second, also earning his second medal of the day.
Maeve Reynolds ran her first ever middle distance race in the u10 500m and started aggressively and was very unlucky to miss out on a medal. She will definitely be one to watch in the coming months.
Due to high numbers, the u11 500m was split into two races, with the top three medal winners picked on time. Saibh Jordan ran in the first race finishing 3rd, however she was unlucky to miss out on a medal, based on times. Muireann Chammas competed well in the same race.
Tayo Lawernce won a bronze in his u14 800m with Adam Cumming not too far behind in 4th.
Taylor Gregory continued his good form and led his u15 800m for much of the race, eventually finishing with a good second place and a silver medal.
Chloe Cooney had a dominant performance the girls u17 800m winning Gold while in the boys u17 800m Daniel Hanley was second and Cillian Sheridan third.
Jamie O'Reilly continued his massive improvements with Gold in the boys u19 800m with Christian Kelly looking strong in third.
Meanwhile Aoife O'Connor won silver in girls U16 shot put.
Other Ace Ac Athletes to impress on the day were Millie Roche, Ollie Marron, James Lynch and Hannah Black.
