The atmosphere was electric at TUS Athlone IT over the weekend as Ireland’s finest young athletes converged for the All-Ireland Indoor Championships and among them, the determined and dynamic athletes of Boyne AC delivered a string of powerful performances that left a lasting impression.

Ryan McMahon, one of Boyne AC’s rising stars, lit up the track in the U17 Boys 200m Final, securing a place among the top six sprinters in Ireland. He surged through the final bend and held his own against the country’s elite.

While he narrowly missed out on a medal, his explosive finish and relentless drive showed exactly why he’s one to watch. The following day, he returned for the U17 60m Final and again found himself in a fiercely competitive photo finish, just outside the medals, but once again proving his calibre on the national stage.

Also taking centre stage was Romeo Fomenky who powered through the heats in the U18 Boys 60m final to secure a spot among the top six fastest U18 athletes in Ireland. He too was edged out of the medals in a tight finish but demonstrated exceptional pace, strength, and potential throughout the event.

Meanwhile, in the field events, Hila Raji, the reigning Leinster High Jump Champion, proudly represented the club in the U14 Girls High Jump. Hila cleared 1.35m to secure an impressive 8th place overall. Her composure and technical skill were clear as she competed against the nation’s best, further establishing her place as one of the country’s most promising young jumpers.

In the U13 Boys 60m, Cillian Hickey showed great composure and determination. Lining up alongside Ireland’s quickest young sprinters, Cillian clocked a swift 8.67 seconds, narrowly missing out on a place in the final. It was a strong, confident showing that promises even more to come.

Off the track, there was also cause for celebration as long-time club member and friend Kevin Doyle tied the knot on Saturday. Everyone at Boyne AC extends heartfelt congratulations to Kevin and his new bride, wishing them a lifetime of love, laughter, and happiness.
