Dabbling in the supernatural can be a dangerous business - as the Duleek Drama Players discover in their new production Death by Fatal Murder.
The comedy murder mystery by Peter Gordon opens in Drogheda’s Droichead Arts Centre on Tuesday, April 8th and runs until Saturday, 12th.
Set in an English country house during WW11, this humorous take on an Agatha Christie style thriller aims to keep the audience guessing – and giggling.
“Instead of Hercule Poirot we have the gloriously incompetent but very funny Inspector Pratt,” says director Carmel Matthews.

“He is the world’s worst detective who finds himself aided in his investigations by an eccentric Welsh psychic who is in regular contact with the dead,” she adds.
Death by Fatal Murder is the third play from writer Peter Gordon’s Inspector Pratt series which the Duleek Players have brought to the stage.

“We have had a great audience reaction to the previous two dramas so we are looking forward to keeping everyone entertained,” said Carmel.
The cast of eight sees Duleek stalwart David Andrews take to the stage once more as the hapless Inspector Pratt, with Guy Lynch playing his unfortunate sidekick Constable Thomkins.
Also on the case is amateur sleuth Miss Maple played by Dympna McNally, with an RAF fighter pilot on leave played by Thomas Kennedy, bringing a touch of wartime drama to the proceedings.
The clairvoyant who is convinced her psychic skills can uncover a killer, is played by Carmel Matthews, with Con McGinley providing a touch of glamour as an Italian charmer.
Not only are audiences promised a great night out, they will also be supporting good causes as the Duleek Players performances this year will benefit several local charities.
These include Drogheda Cares for the Homeless on Tuesday, April 8th, Mollies Animal Rescue on Wednesday 9th and Mellon Educate Africa on Thursday April 10th.
Performances start at 8pm sharp, tickets are €15 (plus €1 booking) and can be had from the Droichead Arts Centre or online at droichead.com.
