Over 40 volunteers join Tidy Towns clean up along the river Boyne

Front Page
Drogheda Tidy Towns had a great turnout on sunday with over 40 people joining in a thorough clean up of the Boyne ramparts from Haymarket Bridge to the Mary McAleese Bridge.

"We managed a thorough clean-up along much of the Boyne's banks on both sides, starting from Haymarket Bridge and reaching almost as far as the Mary McAleese Boyne Valley Bridge, including Dominick’s Park" said TT Chairman Gerry Leydon.

"We collected everything from cigarette butts and bottles to a shopping trolley and even dumped furniture.

"Huge thanks to the amazing support from Drogheda and District AC, Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery, and the Hands for Unity participants — especially the fantastic group from the Indian Family Association.

"We were also joined by many of our dedicated regulars and some new faces from the public, all of whom were greatly appreciated.

"Incredible work by everyone involved — and it was lovely to unwind afterwards with a coffee, thanks to Sarah and Gary from Sagscoffee."
