Stephane Mainguard shined brightly at the Prague half marathon with a stunning debut of 1:36:28! Drogheda athletes took to the splendid city of Prague with it's stunning bridges and unique urban landscape with some very impressive running. Despite quite cool temperatures the meandering course was well enjoyed.

John Breen returned to form with a powerhouse performance around the fabled streets of Prague. Yasmin Canning pulled off a marvellous race on the back of very little training, finishing in 1:35:24. Paddy Murphy added nicely to his tally of European half marathons this time he got the pacing just right to finish in 1:32:22 showing no loss of fitness since the Amsterdam half marathon late last year.

And those magnificent Reilly ladies did it again at Prague - Nuala (1:54:12), Aisling (2:04:56) and Olivia (1:57:43) the pride of Drogheda and we salute them!

Drogheda & District were represented at the Berlin Half marathon by Elma Martin (01:54:58) Karl Cooney (1:48:14), Paul Faulkner (2:11:22), Maria Cooney (2:11:45) and Jim O'Grady (2:13:26) braved icy cool temperatures.

The race is the pinnacle of European distancing running with a spectacular finish just inside the West side of the Brandenburg Gate.

Liam Farrell, Andrea McArdle, Alan Foley, Helen Dillon and Fiona Kenna at the Windmill 5k in Garristown.

Drogheda’s athletes at the Windmill 5k in Garristown enjoyed a very competitive race in the delightful April sunshine.

After a successful parkrun in Laytown last week Fiona Kenna took on her first race back in six months and despite some itching nerves finished in 2nd place lady and 1st lady in the Over 40 category. Terrific running a tough course!

Alan Foley and Andrea McArdle worked nicely together finishing in 22:27/8, with Helen Dillon on sparkling form completing the race in 22:57.

There will be a pre run of the Drogheda 10K route this Sunday 13th April @9am meeting on steps of St Peter’s Church. All welcome.
