Front Page

It was a big weekend for Drogheda & District AC with standout results at the Seamie Weldon Road Races in Ardee and the DSD Masters Team Games in Dundrum.

In Ardee, the women’s 5K team of Yasmin Canning, Mia Jacob, Pamela Howard, and Ciara O’Reilly dominated to win county team gold. Canning was 2nd overall, Jacob 3rd, Howard claimed category gold, and O’Reilly added silver.

Paul Kierans finished 3rd overall in the men’s 5K, also taking gold, with further medals for Stephen McArdle, Fiona Murphy, Mary McDonnell, Robert Quaile, and the Nolan family.

Ruaidhri Nolan ran superbly in the 10K, winning his category and leading the men’s team — with Brian Martin, Rodney Thornton, and Shane Larkin — to team gold. Earlier, John Perkins completed the Dingle Marathon in 3:38:59.

At the DSD Masters Team Games, athletes braved torrential rain to deliver PBs and podium finishes. Mary Kinsella, Frank Cruise, Alan Wade, Robbie Keane, Yasmin Canning, and Niall Donnelly all impressed on the track, while Michael Lundon took on the field events.

The day ended with Alan, Robbie, Niall, and Michael storming to victory in the 4x400m relay.

From road to track, the club celebrated medals, PBs, and plenty of team spirit.
