It’s been a pulsating season for Drogheda United in the League of Ireland as they continue their push for a European spot — and leading the charge is experienced midfielder and club captain, Ryan Brennan.

The local man has played a huge role in the fortunes of the club in recent years and remains one of their most influential figures.

Known for his professionalism and commitment, he continues to lead by example on and off the pitch.

“As a captain and leader, there’s not many better than Ryan out there and that makes him a perfect choice for the latest Drogheda & District Chamber/Flogas Ireland ‘Sporting Hero’ award,” said Chamber CEO Hubert Murphy.

“These awards recognise spirit and determination in equal measure, and Ryan ticks all the boxes when it comes to commitment. The club has helped inspire a great belief in the town and hopefully they can push on for Europe come November.”

David Allen, Head of SMB Markets at Flogas, presented the award to Ryan alongside members of the Chamber team.
