Meath County Council has been shortlisted for ten projects in the 2025 Chambers Ireland Excellence in Local Government Awards. These awards celebrate the efforts of local authorities in improving communities and the quality of life for residents across Ireland.

The ten shortlisted projects showcase the council's commitment to community, culture, and innovation:

  2. The Meath Befriending Network – Age Friendly Initiative

  3. ‘Local Lens’ – A podcast from Meath County Council – Communications

  4. Empowering Futures: Entrepreneurship Programme for People with Disabilities – Diversity and Inclusion

  5. Boyne Valley to Lakelands Greenway – Health and Wellbeing

  6. Heritage Led Regeneration Project in Market Square, Navan – Heritage and Built Environment

  7. Live Streaming of the 2024 Local Elections – Municipal District Initiative

  8. Meath Community Amenity Project Scheme – Municipal District Initiative

  9. Empowering Entrepreneurs: The Lunch and Learn Roadshow Initiative – Promoting Economic Development

  10. East Meath Civic Centre - Bettystown Library – Urban Revival

"We are incredibly proud to be recognised for these diverse and impactful projects," said Meath County Council Chief Executive Kieran Kehoe. "Each initiative reflects our dedication to serving the community and enhancing the quality of life for all residents."

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Thursday, 27th November.
