When Drogheda Lion’s Club hosted their inaugural ‘Share the Love’ presentation in Scholar’s Townhouse Hotel recently it turned out to be a truly inspirational gathering of like-minded volunteers who work tirelessly to serve the people of Drogheda.

The ‘Share the Love’ initiative was introduced to the Lion’s Club diary by this year’s President, Ciaran Briscoe and most of the club members were there to welcome the guests.

Ciaran said that each member of the club had been asked to nominate a local cause that was close to their heart which inspired the name for our new initiative. 

“We decided to invite the nominees to join the Club for a get together and to present a donation to support other volunteer groups with their work and also to offer our help to them when needed.  In my opinion, it is important to recognise the power of our Community.”

Ciaran presented donations to St Oliver Plunket’s GAA Club, Drogheda Dolls, Drogheda Women’s and Children’s Refuge, Tredagh Lodge and Boyne Fisherman’s Rescue and Recovery Service who all committed to continue to help each other reach their goals over the coming year.

Drogheda Lion’s Club will be presenting other groups with ‘Share the Love’ donations to other groups in the town and will be in touch with them in the near future.
