Proceeds going to women’s charity Safe Ireland

The Arc Cinema in Drogheda is celebrating International Women’s Day tomorrow (March 8)with a special screening of Wicked, a film that champions female empowerment and the power of friendship.

All proceeds from this event will be donated to the incredible organisation Safe Ireland, which is dedicated to supporting and protecting women and children affected by violence. Safe Ireland works to develop strong, community-based responses, empowering women and creating safer futures.

The decision to screen Wicked was inspired by its two strong female leads and its themes of resilience, friendship, and empowerment—values that align perfectly with the spirit of International Women’s Day.

 As a strong female leader at The Arc Cinema Drogheda, Eleni shares her passion for creating a welcoming environment for the community and inspiring other women to pursue leadership roles.

When offering advice to women aspiring to similar roles, Eleni highlights the importance of confidence and self-belief.

"Believe in yourself and your abilities. Confidence is key, and when you trust yourself, you can achieve anything you set your mind to."
