Hannele Raji brought home silver in the Women’s U20 Shot Put with an impressive throw of 7.75m and continued to shine in the Leinster Indoor Championships Long Jump, placing fourth with a remarkable 5.11m, missing out on a podium finish by mere millimeters. Field coach Keith Byrne played a key role in keeping Hannele focused and motivated throughout the competition.
The Women’s U20 3000m was an absolute thriller, with Eilish Keenan and Shauna Rice delivering fantastic performances. They stayed right on the heels of the leaders throughout the race, with Eilish securing third place and Shauna finishing just behind in fourth. Their determination and race strategy, supported by distance coach Andrew White, helped them push through to the finish line.
Andrew White also took to the track himself in the Leinster Men’s Masters 3000m, where he took the bronze medal. Balancing both coaching and competition, Andrew played a crucial role in guiding Boyne AC’s distance runners while proving his own ability at the highest level.
The Men’s U20 3000m saw a brilliant effort from Jack Garvey and Seamus Keenan in a tough and competitive race. Jack delivered a superb performance, earning a well-deserved silver medal, while Seamus put in a strong effort to finish just outside the medals with a new personal best of 10:15.
On Day two, Boyne AC’s U13 Boys 4x200m relay team put in an incredible effort in the fastest heat of the day, but missed out on the final by just one second. A fantastic performance from Will Gow, Cillian Hickey, Harry Kingston, and Jessie Nwankwo, who were well-prepared thanks to relay coach Richard Lundon, who ensured they were race-ready and confident.
Hannele Raji continued her medal-winning streak with an outstanding victory in the U17 Shot Put, winning by a clear margin. Adding to her success from Day 1, she now boasts a silver medal from the Women’s U20 4kg Shot Put and a gold in the U17 event—a fantastic achievement.
