Debbie McCole.
Sinn Féin Drogheda Urban candidate, Debbie McCole, has said it’s “disgraceful” that a site has still not been located for a Driving Test Centre in Drogheda. “This has been going on for seven years!” she said.
“A person who joins the waiting list for a driving test in Dundalk today will be waiting until the middle of August for the opportunity to even book a test – and the test might be several weeks beyond that.
“It’s obvious that Drogheda needs its own test centre. It’s also obvious that someone has really dropped the ball here.
“The Road Safety Authority (RSA) and the Office of Public Works (OPW) continue to fail to locate a site. I understand that this is not an easy task, but the length of time it is taking is really beyond acceptable at this stage.

“For years, people have been putting up with long waiting lists. These are people who need a full driving licence for their work, for caring commitments, because of mobility issues and many other reasons.
“Deputy Munster has contacted the RSA on this matter, and we will continue to work on this until a site is located.”
