The Ledwidge Museum Christmas card.
The Ledwidge Museum Committee in Slane was fast out of the blocks to beat the Christmas rush as it launches its seasonal greetings card.
The Slane committee has announced that due to the generosity of artist and local resident Robert Ardil it has been able to use a beautiful painting of the village as its Christmas card.
The painting shows Slane main street from an Eastern perspective, taking in one of the “Four Sisters” grand houses, a glimpse of the Conyngham Arms Hotel and the Church of Ireland.
The cards will be on sale at €2.50 each from the museum and a packet of five for €16 (including post and packaging) will be available from local outlets Mimnagh’s, Shine in addition to the Solstice Navan from the end of this month. Further details are available through the museum’s website.

Ledwidge Committee Chairperson Terry Wogan said the members of the committee were very pleased to get Robert Ardil’s image of Slane on its cards. “It is very generous of him and we thank him for allowing us to use it.”
The committee is carrying on with its usual activities around the home place of Ledwidge. On 18th October members of the committee will be involved in a “tidy up” of the garden. Volunteers for that task are welcome and are invited to contact our staff at the museum.
