Drogs Bring in Goalscorer Jack Stretton on Deal Until End of Season

Drogheda United has announced the signing of Scottish U19 international forward Jack Stretton on a deal until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old came through the academy at Derby County, where he made his senior debut in 2020.

He later moved to Stockport County permanently, where he scored three crucial goals towards the end of the 2023 season.

His goals included a memorable extra-time header in the League Two Play-Off Semi-Final against Salford City, which sent the game to penalties.

Stretton had short loan spells at Oldham Athletic and Woking before joining Burton Albion in February of this year.

Speaking on the move, Stretton said, "I've had a few very good conversations with the manager, and everything he's said has made me more excited to get this done. I'm looking forward to playing under him and seeing where it takes us."

He added, "I'll give 100% every time I step on the pitch. I like to run in behind, obviously scoring goals is the main thing, and hopefully, I can do that plenty of times for the fans and the team."
