Cork Choral Festival is marking its 70th anniversary this May weekend with a special performance from Drogheda-based community choir Voices of the Boyne. The all-female group will participate in this year’s prestigious singing competition alongside other choir groups from around the world on Sunday evening.
A second Louth choir Réalta is also set to be showcased at the four-day event.
The Cork Choral Festival, running from April 30th through the first weekend of May, promises spectacular and unforgettable music, culture exchange and celebration. “It's so exciting to be travelling with my two choirs from Drogheda for the Cork festival,” says Claire Grogan, Musical Director for both choirs. “Having competed as a teenager in Cork, I’m feeling very proud to now be the one conducting in this prestigious event.”

The group will arrive in Cork on Friday to absorb the exciting atmosphere of the festival, connecting with the other like-minded musicians and enjoying performances from international groups.
In addition to the competition, the 65-strong women’s choir will treat their audiences to an informal choral performance on that Saturday afternoon, adding their unique touch to the musical experience of the festival.
