Mayor of Drogheda Paddy McQuillan and Fr. Eugene Sweeney of St. Peter's Church sign the boook of condolences at the Cicic Offices in Fair Street.
The Mayor of Drogheda, Councillor Paddy McQuillan, has opened a book of condolences for Pope Francis at the Louth County Council Civic Offices in Fair Street.
“Pope Francis was a man of common sense who came from humble beginnings” Cllr. McQuillan said. “He will rightly be remembered as an inspirational Pope and will be missed by millions of people around the world. May he Rest in Peace.”
After he signed the book of Condolence the Parish Priest of St. Peter’s Church, Canon Eugene Sweeney, told Drogheda Life that there were also books of condolence available in both St. Peter’s Church and Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
“Pope Francis will be remembered at a special Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 7.00 pm on Friday” he said. This Mass will be recorded and broadcast on LMFM radio on Sunday morning at 9.00 am.

The book in the Council public Offices is available to sign from 9.00 am until 5.00 pm on Friday.
