Cannabis plants and herb seized in Dunleer yesterday.
Gardaí attached to the Divisional Drug Unit in Drogheda Garda station executed a search warrant at a property in Dunleer, County Louth yesterday and discovered a sophisticated cannabis cultivation operation.
The Gardaí seized 60 cannabis plants at various stages of growth, with an estimated street value of over €48,000 and cannabis herb with an estimated value of €185,000.
Two men, aged in their 30s and 50s, were arrested at the scene and are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda Station in the North Western Region.
This operation was conducted as part of Operation Tara, an ongoing Garda initiative targeting drug trafficking networks and related criminal activity. All items seized will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for further analysis.
