Independent election candidate Peter James Nugent launched his campaign last night, Wednesday 20th of November, upstairs in The Punt Bar.
His main priority for Louth and East Meath will be safety, which he plans to achieve through increased visibility of Garda on the streets.
He also aims to tackle traffic congestion in Drogheda. Nugent welcomed the new Chief Executive of Louth County Council, David Conway, and looks forward to working with him to improve the city.
He also wants a fair housing policy for all, a rent freeze for renters and increases of social housing for homeless and Rapid tenants.

During the launch, many questions were raised by the public, showing the interest and concerns of the community.
With ten years of experience as a community activist, Peter James understands the needs of the people of Louth and East Meath. If elected, he plans to open a new independent office for the public to seek advice and support.
