Councillor Stephen McKee in Donore Village.
East Meath Fianna Fáil Councillor, Stephen McKee, has successfully tabled a Motion at the most recent Area Council Meeting calling for traffic calming measures at Donore village.
McKee was pleased that his motion calling for immediate action to improve road safety through Donore village was adopted by Members.
“It is clear that general traffic-calming measures are needed on all approach roads into Donore” he said, “there is no doubt that something needs to be done to slow the traffic down, particularly at the school, and make the village safer and to improve the quality of life for everyone.
“In response to my Motion, the Council have said that they will assess the current traffic calming signage approaching the village and carry out an observational study. The Council will then gather data from speed surveys and this will inform any future traffic calming measures.
