Despite carrying a slight cold, Ace AC's u18 Athlete, the current National 1500m track champion Eimear Cooney, won yet another National medal with a 9th place finish in the U18 National Cross Country in Enniskillen at the weekend.

The u18 National XC race was mixed with the u20's, with 170 athletes starting the race. A top 3 finish secured a place at the European u18 XC Championships and top 12 finishers won a national medal.

So ninth was a brilliant achievement for Emear and Ace AC. On top of her individual medal, Eimear's high finish helped her secure a Gold with the Louth u20 team.

Ace AC’s only other medal on the day was a Leinster team bronze medal, that went to Shea O'Donnell who finished 31st in the boys u18's.
