If you are aged between 16 and 25 and interested in a career in theatre, read on. Droichead Youth Theatre are taking part in the CÉIM project, running in the Barbican Parochial Centre on November 22nd and 23rd and everyone is invited.
Supported by the Coca Cola Thank You Funds and The Irish Youth Foundation, this amazing series of workshops and talks offers the opportunity for young people aged 16-25 to explore theatre as a career and highlight the benefits of drama.
Run in partnership with the Gaiety School of Acting`(GSA), this wonderful event will give young people the chance to try their hand at a range of different arts careers including acting, writing, design, and directing, and will include masterclasses in Stage Combat, drama teaching, and a special Shakespeare session focused on supporting Leaving Cert students grapple with King Lear.
Drogheda artists involved in the event include Lighting Designer Sophie Cassidy, Director and Facilitator Barry Morgan ,co-founder of Impact Youth Theatre, the only youth theatre inside a Direct Provision centre, and Theatre-Maker Christina Matthews, who is the Artistic Director of Droichead Youth Theatre.

There will be a panel discussion on the Friday at 6:30pm with speakers including lecturer/director Laura Bowler from DKIT’s Drama and Film programme, and special guests from Gaiety School of Acting and Droichead Youth Theatre staff and alumni. The panel will be facilitated by GSA's new director Will Wollen.
Droichead Youth Theatre cannot wait to showcase the importance of art and youth arts to a young person’s development and the community and learn about how careers in the arts are concrete and achievable future pathways.
