LOUTH COUNTY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ROAD
Section 75 Roads Act, 1993
(Roads Regulations 1994)
Louth County Council hereby gives notice of its decision to close the following roads to vehicular traffic to facilitate the installation of vehicle restraint systems (VRS) at the following locations.
Location 1 – LP 3084 at Aghameen, Upper Jenkinstown, Dundalk.
- Alternative Northbound approach from Jenkinstown Cross – Diversion will be in place at the LS-7083 junction off the LP-3084 diverting traffic south through Killin and Piedmont. Traffic will then be diverted north bound onto the LP-3081 through Benagh and Ballygoley and eventually back to the Spellickanee junction at the old Aghameen School, Upper Jenkinstown where the road closure will be in place.
- Alternative Southbound approach from Moneycrockroe – above route in reverse
Location 2 – LP 3052 at Corrakit, Tullagh, Co. Louth
- Alternative Northbound approach from The Long Woman’s Grave - Diversion will be in place just after the Long Woman’s Grave diverting traffic to the right toward Corrakit and Tulla on the LP-3056-20.Traffic will then be diverted left onto the LT– 30523 at Tulla taking them westbound back onto he LP3052
- Alternative Southbound approach from The Long Woman’s Grave - above route in reverse
The road closures will be from 08:00 on Monday 24th of February 2025 for a period of at least two weeks.
Local & Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
