Drogheda Creative Writers will celebrate May Day in Highlanes Gallery, Drogheda at 1pm on Thursday 1st May. Local poets and writers will read and perform their poems and reflections on renewal, hope, abundance, solidarity and unity. All are welcome to join this celebration.
Poetry Ireland Day 2025 takes place on Thursday May 1st and its theme is May Day, rooted in the ancient fire festival of Bealtaine symbolising renewal, hope and abundance. May Day is also connected to International Workers Day which is celebrated in many countries, prompting reflection on solidarity and collective strength.
For several years now, Drogheda Creative Writers continue to inspire and connect people through poetry on Poetry Ireland Day at Highlanes Gallery.
Drogheda Creative Writers is a local writers group for new, emerging and established writers and poets who meet on the second and fourth Monday of each month at Droichead Arts Centre, Barlow House at 7.30pm. All writers and poets are welcome to join these meetings.

They have collaborated with several other groups to bring poetry to Drogheda and perform regularly at Drogheda Library, Droichead Arts Centre and Highlanes Gallery.
