Drogheda Tourist Office are to celebrate'Bloomsday at the Tholsel' with music and readings from James Joyce’s most famous novel Ulysses, the chief character of which is called Leopold Bloom.
Ulysses is one of the world's most famous works of fiction and enthusiasts all over the world celebrate Bloomsday and many like to dress for the part of their favourite Joycean character which the organisers are encouraging. They have also issued an open call for readers to bring their own copy of the book.
At the Drogheda Tourist Office West Street. On Saturday June 14th 2025' 3pm - 5pm. Admission is free.
James Joyce’s works include 'Dubliners', 'A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man' and 'Finnegans Wake' but he is best known for 'Ulysses' which is set in Dublin and parallels the events of Homer's 'The Odyssey'.
