Consultation on the provision of CCTV Cameras in public areas

Louth County Council is undertaking public consultation on the provision of CCTV Cameras in public areas within County Louth. We seek your views on the implementation of CCTV for the prevention of litter and illegal dumping in the following areas:

  • Williamson Place/Ramparts Road, Dundalk
  • Laneway between the Holy Redeemer Church and Family Resource Centre, Dundalk

Louth County Council intends to install and operate CCTV cameras for the sole primary purpose of preventing litter and illegal dumping and enforcement of the Litter Pollution Act, 1997, and the Waste Management Act 1996. This initiative will adhere to the Codes of Practice for the Operation of CCTV for the Purposes of Prevention, Detection & Prosecution of Litter and Waste Offences.

Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed scheme may be made in writing to the Waste Management and Environment Section, Louth County Council, County Hall, Millennium Centre, Dundalk, Co. Louth, A91 KFW6.  Alternatively, you may email submissions or observations at littercomplaints@louthcoco.ie not later than 13th June 2025.
