Just over a week after crowds filled Laurence Street for the 15th Drogheda Motor Show, organisers have confirmed that 22 new vehicles were sold on the day, representing more than €900,000 in sales.

With the average price of a new car in Ireland now estimated at €41,200 (according to a recent Irish Independent report), the results highlight the tangible economic impact of bringing major events into the town centre — where meaningful business takes place in full view of the community.

These purchases directly support local employment across dealerships, finance, servicing, and related trades, reinforcing the importance of shopping local for long-term impact.

The event was delivered by Drogheda’s franchised motor dealers, with support from First Citizen Finance, the Society of the Irish Motor Industry, Louth County Council, Drogheda & District Chamber, LHK, and the Laurence Street businesses and traders.

Naomi Tully, President of Drogheda & District Chamber, commented:
“This is a clear example of how local partnership drives real results. The show isn’t just a showcase — it’s a working day for the local economy, right on our streets.”

Bringing together 20 motor brands across nine dealerships, the Drogheda Motor Show has become a much-anticipated annual highlight, combining industry, innovation and community spirit — all in one accessible town centre location.
