Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th July 2025, sees the fifth Louth Plein Air Art Festival taking artists painting outdoors around the beautiful coastal scenes, heritage sites, towns and villages in County Louth.
Looking forward to embracing the rural charm that is Anaverna House in Ravensdale on Saturday 5th July and for the first time we visit Baltray, the most southern village situated along the Boyne River and coast on Sunday 6th July. Both venues offer an array of potential paintings at every turn.
Typically you can expect artists to arrive from 9.00am as in previous years. The day will begin at 9.30am with registration/ check in for the artists who will then paint outdoors until 4.15pm. The end of day display on the green, of all the paintings on their easels and the judging competition will occur before 5.00pm.
This is always a great time to come along and browse the art created during the day. The artists and the public can vote for their favourite painting in the People’s Choice Award. This is selected by fellow artists and spectators who can scan a QR code to vote for their favourite painting and the winning artist.

As always, weather is of concern, so typically everyone is asked to pack their gear for all seasons. Saying that, there is no better feeling than painting outdoors on a good day in Ireland - the calmness, stress freedom and overall peacefulness of being present with other like-minded art enthusiasts.
We’re extremely grateful to have sponsorship from Louth County Council Festivals Initiative, Drogheda Credit Union, Evans Art Supplies and An Tain Theatre, Dundalk this year.
Registration is open now on Organiser Leonora Reilly’s website. Tickets are €55. All information and links you may require are on the website. Open to all levels of experience. If you have a question please message Leonora who will be glad to help you. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER
