In just five days, five Boyne Valley flavours producers and venues in Drogheda and its surrounding villages took home 13 awards, including honours for best dining, best customer service, best hotel restaurant and best craft beer in Ireland.
These included awards at the Irish Restaurant Awards, the Dublin Craft Beer Cup at the Alltech Craft Beer and Food Fair and the Local Enterprise Awards.
At the Irish Restaurant Awards, three venues throughout from Drogheda and its surrounding villages walked away with awards. Scholars Townhouse Hotel won Best Hotel & Guesthouse Restaurant, Eastern Seaboard and Grill was awarded Best Casual Dining and the Monasterboice Inn took Best Customer Service. To top it all off, Marita and Peter Collier of Drummond House Garlic were awarded Local Food Hero in Louth for their outstanding work before winning the Innovation category at the Local Enterprise Awards for Louth later in the week.
That’s not all though! At the weekend’s Alltech Craft Brews and Food Fair, Boyne Brewhouse not only won Best Craft Beer in Ireland for their Imperial Stout at the event’s Dublin Craft Beer Cup. They also gathered another seven medals for their popular beers including three gold!
